HIL test rigs or
Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation Test Systems (HILST systems) were initially conceived as single application test systems, and in automotive applications were frequently used to test engine control units. Nowadays these systems are used to test a wide variety of electronic control units and the idea of a single application system is giving way to a more cost effective, multiple-use paradigm more typical of other more general purpose testing applications. The question is 'Why buy a system that is limited to only one job when that piece of equipment could do several jobs. |
|
As equipment becomes quicker and easier to use, it performs its initial purpose more effectively and quickly and so is then available to do other tasks, providing of course that the system is able to be easily changed to meet its new requirements. It is often at this point that it is realised that the system was specified with inflexible interfacing so preventing the system from being easily re-used.
It is for this reason amongst others that we designed Genix, our software configurable interfacing system. Using Genix, a test system is quickly and easily configured to its new task, taking only minutes or at most an hour or two to define a configuration. |
|
Genix can be used with any third party HIL system whether legacy equipment or new systems but is even more cost effective when built into our Genix Target systems using proven sofware such as Simulink®, RT-LAB and QNX. Our new graphical interface
VISUALCONNX, means creating graphical interfaces for test and demonstration is also quick and easy. The next step in automotive and truck HIL Simulation is to quickly and easily create even more accurate vehicle simulations using CarSim-RT or TruckSim-RT. These systems are ideal for dynamic testing, of braking, stability control transmission and more. |
