VISUALCONNX

With today’s predominance of information it can be useful to be able to interface graphically. Windowstm allows anybody who can program to create graphical representations of signal data and control data with graphs, buttons and dials or even more sophisticated representations. However, what if you cannot program or do not want to spend the time. Wouldn't it be nice to see the source of your information in a simple tree structure, create the graphical representation, drag your data where you want it and suddenly see your data represented in whatever format you want. In seconds.

This is VISUALCONNX.

How it works

VISUALCONNX is a simple and user-friendly graphical interface which connects quickly and easily to many sources of data whether that data is in the PC, on a network database, down a communications connection such as TCP/IP, USB or CCP,  in a database or connected via an interface card. It could even be in a product prototype connecting via a debugging interface or a specialist piece of test equipment.

Create

A customized graphical interface can be created by dragging knobs, graphs, buttons, bitmaps etc onto a form, and then changing styles and colours to create the display you want.

Connect

To connect to your target hardware the same “drag & drop” approach is used - by dragging elements you want to associate with it, from a hierarchical description of the target system onto the screen .

Many standard connections are available such as xPC, Simulink, RT-Linux and of course all our test hardware products. If we do not have the connection you wish we can produce it for you or if you wish you can use the API to produce your own.

Interact

Simply by hitting the run button you can then view or change your model in real-time.

Once familiar with the controls, more powerful interfaces can be created.

Test

Using the scripting facilities.  VBScript, JScript and Python are optionally available as a means of extending the capabilities of the program.

Powerful scripts can be created to allow you to modify values or interrogate the real-time target for values and test against known conditions.

The program or the scripts can be controlled remotely from other programs uisng a COM interface.

Organise

All forms and controls are organised in a “project” manner allowing a particular set of screens to relate to a particular model or target system. Associated files such as Word documents and PDF specifications may also be included in the project for clarity.
